My name is Ashlin, and I’m publishing this blog because I want to share the good things the Lord has given to me with the women of his body. I’m a grateful recipient of God’s reconciling grace through Christ Jesus, and an unmarried woman of 28. I put a lot of energy into relationships during the first half of my twenties, seriously considering marriage a couple of times. After the gospel of Jesus Christ, not having married is the thing I’m most grateful for, because I feel God is calling me to walk- no, run the race!- as a celibate daughter. I don’t intend to take vows, but this is me for now.
The last three years running solo with the Lord have been the richest and most joyful of my life. The posts I plan to share here are reflections on what I’ve learned, what I’m still learning, and questions I’m meditating on. These meditations touch on biblical femininity, singleness, celibacy, what a godly woman is in the church and in the world, and above all, the gospel.
I urge you to run everything I have to say by scripture. I make no claims of having special authority. My heart is simply to share the good things I have from our Father with you, sisters. If you ever find me going astray in my reflections, please leave a comment with a correcting scripture.
“Let a righteous man strike me—it is a kindness; let him rebuke me—it is oil for my head; let my head not refuse it. ” -Psalm 141:5
